Will the Campaign Snowball? Page to be updated? |
|
People had a lot of fun on Tinshill Recreation Ground at Easter. Nothing like winter sports to warm you up. There is a picture here of a huge snowball, with global warming and a new round of digging starting in May, it could be the last one. Leeds council is not as resident friendly as it used to be, are snowballs illegal now? With a bit of luck our campaign might snowball in the next week or so, when the fence goes up people will be able to judge what the rest of it will be like. The newly “drained” pitches are still waterlogged, loads of litter is blowing about from the old school site and the trees that were “lumberjacked” at the school still lie where they were left. Farrar Lane has been resurfaced, the only good news. The council election nominations start on Friday, maybe our politicians will say what they propose to do about the mess at Tinshill when we find out who they are? There are new concerns that the university and council are working on a scheme near Hyde Park. There are protected pitches that need to be built on, so they are trying to reserve part of Woodhouse Moor for the students. Could this happen at Tinshill? Nearby Boddington Hall student residence is going to close in a couple of years. There is a separate proposal to build on the pitches. Will the university claim the upgraded pitches at Tinshill? Please sign our petition to Gordon Brown now, we need to stop our council from fencing us out of our field. Fencing is Theft!
