Executive Board Examines Report on 12 March

The council executive board examined a report on Tinshill Recreation Ground on 12 march.

There is to be no change to the plan, but the board is to make sure we get access to the field.

The fence on the first two pitches will be built on 31 March or soon after.

The destruction of the rest of our ground will begin in May,

A comprehensive paper has been produced, and contains a couple of important revelations,

The report can be seen on the council website executive board agendas.

Last year a car was burned out on the field. This has caused damage to underground plastic drainage pipes amounting to £22,500. The top pitch is waterlogged because of further drainage problems and appears to be useless.

Will the Council use this as an excuse to fence all of it off ?

The council is developing a Department of Health Well Being proposal for £30 Million centre for Holt Park.

This will include a new leisure centre. There are other proposals outside the report that suggest that floodlighting might be an option.

The Well Being proposal is to go on the site of the old school.

Will this mean that a new ASDA will be built on Tinshill Recreation Ground. Detailed plans may soon be published about Holt Park, look out for them!
